A Little More About Your Role…
WSP is seeking Drainage Engineers at all grades—specialising in Water, Drainage, and Environmental Engineering—to expand our expertise and technical capabilities. We support clients and projects throughout the UK, focusing on high-profile rail, highway, Local Authority, and aviation projects, delivering drainage designs from concept to detail.
Your core responsibilities include:
- Delivering a variety of civil engineering projects, including highway, rail, infrastructure, and site development schemes
- Managing projects from concept through to completion, ensuring They meet high technical standards on time and commercially successfully
- Providing a broad range of drainage solutions for cutting-edge transportation and infrastructure projects across the UK
Role Evolution for More Senior Grades
- Lead client relationships and attend progress meetings
- Manage a team of drainage engineers, supporting their development and ensuring they are adequately resourced
We are open to candidates from Senior Consultant up to Associate Director and welcome applications from UK offices in our modern, networked workspace.

Key Requirements & Skills
We’re looking for candidates who demonstrate:
- Chartered Engineers (CEng) or Incorporated Engineers (IEng) and/or a degree qualification (depending on the role)
- Extensive experience in post-degree sustainable drainage solutions
- Comprehensive knowledge of drainage design principles, including infrastructure management, foul water systems, and sustainable drainage (SuDS)
- Practical experience in Civil 3D and/or Causeway Flow/MicroDrainage software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- In-depth technical prowess in UK Building Regulations, Design Standards, Codes of Practice, and Health & Safety guidelines
- Proven track record in managing projects, teams, and commercial targets
