Driver
PRM Airside Driver – Glasgow Airport
About the Role
Working as a member of the PRM Airside Driver Team, you will drive the Company’s specialist vehicles on the airfield to transfer passengers with reduced mobility (PRM’s) from the aircraft to the terminal building or vice versa. You may operate vehicles ranging from minibuses to Class 2 rigid heavy goods type vehicles, where full training will be provided. Additional duties include assisting PRM passengers with boarding, the transfer of passengers between vehicles and the terminal, and handling using manual handling techniques.
The role may also require Customer Care Agent (CCA) duties within the terminal, including escorting passengers, security assistance, flight boardings, or assisting with baggage reclaim. Tasks vary depending on operational demand, so flexibility and reliability are key.
Key Responsibilities
[DRIVING & VEHICLE MANAGEMENT]
- Complete the daily Vehicle Check Sheet to ensure operational reliability, reporting any vehicle defaults promptly.
- Drive company vehicles safely and securely, operating within close proximity to aircraft and adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain strict cleanliness and tidiness of all vehicles.
[PASSenger & OPERATIONAL SUPPORT]
- Collect and deliver PRM passengers at the aircraft door, assisting with transfers to seats or wheelchairs using safe manual handling techniques.
- Perform Customer Care Agent (CCA) duties as required, such as:
- Escorting passengers through security and boarding flights.
- Meeting arriving flights and assisting PRM passengers to baggage reclaim.
- Ensure the Allocator is updated in real-time on job progress via PDA’s and radio communications.

- Adhere strictly to Manchester/Glasgow airport airside driving requirements.
- Promote a safe, secure, and professional environment across all duties.

Shift Pattern & Compensation
- Location: Glasgow Airport
- Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off (40 hours per week)
- Pay Rate: Competitive
Note: Shift timings include very early morning periods, outside normal public transport availability.
Required Experience & Background

- Demonstrates religious usage and the flexible attendance.
[Driving & Licensing]
- Full UK driving license, clean and unrestricted.
- Must be able to obtain an airside pass ( restaurant access to security zones).
- A prior Airlines and Car Park experience preferred but not social snowflake will made should you be offered applicant.
- Experience operating similar vehicles (e.g., larger busses or trucks) is a bonus.
[PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS]
- Valid "Right to Work" documentation.
- Five-year employment/education history (with no more than 5 gaps for verification purposes).
- Basic DBS check required.
- Oatmeal Criminal Record Check if applicable (if you’ve lived overseas beyond 6 months in the last 5 years).
- If spending over half a year in any country (other than UK) requires police clearance covering your previous country/times. This must be provided before interview.
- Willingness to work weekends and shift-based hours.
