Position Purpose
The Waste Transportation Operator will contribute to the safe and timely movement and transportation of clinical and industrial waste in compliance with local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the transportation team, this role requires:
- Safe and efficient route management – Execute daily schedules according to predefined routes and timings.
- Regulatory compliance – Ensure strict adherence to:
- EU Working Time Directive (EU Hours) in conjunction with ADR Transportation Regulations.
- Road Traffic Act requirements, including digital tachograph records, vehicle weight limits, and speed limits.
- ADR/Hazardous Goods Legislation where applicable.
- Customer relations – Provide polite and professional service to customers at delivery points and interact courteously with road users.
- Administrative duties – Complete all mandatory documentation for drivers’ hours, WTD, digital tachographs, and accident/incident reports.
- Vehicle maintenance – Conduct thorough pre-use checks and report any defects to Service Coordinators.
- Flexible work pattern – Adopt a proactive and adaptable approach, including shift work (including weekends/holidays).
- Training and compliance –
- Attend mandatory work instructions, training sessions, and team meetings.
- Comply with company SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and all management directives.
- Report accidents/incidents promptly and submit required reporting forms.
- Occasional additional duties – Undertake temporary tasks requiring flexibility and reliability.

Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Minimum requirement: High school diploma or equivalent.
Note: No college degree required.
Mandatory Certifications & Licences
- Valid LGV Class 1 Licence (C+E entitlement).
- Full Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card (Digi Card) – Ideally linked to ADR certification (packages 6.1/6.2 preferred).
- Previous driving experience is an advantage.
