Jobs – Driver Manager @ Victoria Train Crew Depot
We are looking for an energetic, passionate and experienced leader to lead and manage a group of train drivers at our Victoria Train Crew Depot.
This highly visible management role involves:
- Line management of train drivers, including individual performance reviews, briefings, welfare, disciplinary, grievance and poor performance matters
- Driving improved employee engagement to deliver high-performance standards in safety, performance and customer service
- Setting and upholding customer service standards that raise professionalism across the Great Western Railway (GTR) network
- Enhancing the on-board customer experience to improve satisfaction levels and atty compliance
- Implementing attendance, disciplinary and grievance procedures to ensure fair treatment and improved team performance
About the Role
An ideal candidate must demonstrate:
- Strong people leadership skills
- Excellent interpersonal abilities to inspire and motivate teams
- An ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with Trade Union representatives
- Effective oral and written communication skills

Key Responsibilities
People Management
- Lead and support a team of train drivers in delivering high-performance standards consistently
- Conduct individual performance reviews, briefings, and well-being checks
- Handle disciplinary and grievance matters with sensitivity and professionalism
Customer Service & Culture
- Develop and implement customer service standards that improve professionalism and engagement
- Enhance the on-board experience for passengers to drive satisfaction and repeat business
- Contribute to shaping a workplace culture that prioritises quality service and fair treatment
Compliance & Procedures
- Utilize attendance, disciplinary and grievance processes appropriately
- Ensure fair treatment and continued performance improvement within the team

Requirements & Benefits
Skills & Experience
- Proven leadership in a high-performance team environment, preferably in rail or customer service
- Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
- Exceptional communication and people management abilities
- Experience working with Trade Union representatives is beneficial
