PRM Airside Driver – Glasgow Airport

LOCATION: Glasgow Airport

SHIFT PATTERN: 4 on, 4 off (40 hours per week)

PAY RATE: Competitive


About the Role

Working as part of the PRM Airside Driver Team, you will operate specialist vehicles on the airfield to transfer Passengers with Reduced Mobility (PRMs) between aircraft and terminal buildings. You’ll drive vehicles ranging from minibuses to Class 2 rigid heavy goods vehicles, with full training provided.

Key duties include:

  • Assisting PRMs onto aircraft, into their seats, or into ABM vehicles/terminal buildings using manual handling techniques.
  • Supporting Customer Care Agent (CCA) duties in the terminal, including escorting passengers and meeting arriving flights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete daily vehicle check sheets and report any deficiencies in line with inspection procedures.
  • Operate vehicles safely around aircraft, adhering to all security protocols.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and security at all times.
  • Drive passengers to/from aircraft using safe manual handling methods.
  • Complement Customer Care Agent tasks (e.g., guiding passengers, security clearance, boarding assistances).
  • Update the Allocator on job progress via PDAs and radios.
  • Comply with airport airside driving requirements and promote safety at all times.
  • Perform reasonable requests as operational needs demand.

Required Experience & Qualities

  • Previous airline/airport or customer-facing experience is desired but not essential (full training provided).
  • Experience in driving larger vehicles is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort in pressurised situations.
  • Passion for customer service with a focus on excellent guest interactions.
  • Reliability and commitment to punctuality, attendance, and high standards.
  • Non-judgemental attitude, championing equality, inclusion, and diversity.

Essential Skills & Requirements

  • Valid UK driving licence (clean record).
  • Five-year checkable employment/education history (with references for vetting).
  • Pass a DBS check and provide overseas criminal record clearance if applicable.
  • Musting exercise to ensure UK right-to-work status.
  • Ability to obtain an airside pass for restricted areas.
  • Must be available for early morning shifts (outside standard commute hours).
  • Willingness to work weekends and unsocial hours.
