Job Opportunity: HGV Transport Driver (Class 2) – Brenntag UK & Ireland
About Brenntag UK & Ireland
Brenntag UK & Ireland (part of the global Brenntag Group) is the market leader in specialty, bulk and packaged chemical distribution. In the UK, we employ circa 1,000 people across 21 strategic sites, including three sea-fed facilities, and operate a dedicated fleet of over 120 vehicles. We serve over 20,000 customer accounts nationwide.
Our team is constantly growing, and we’re recruiting passionate, driven HGV drivers to join our Manchester depot. Here, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the safe loading and delivery of both hazardous and non-hazardous materials, adhering to scheduled routes and operational standards.
About the Role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Transporting goods per planned schedules
- Following operational policies and procedures
- Ensuring safe and timely deliveries to customers
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, the following qualifications and experience are essential:
- Required
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a current Driver CPC
- Strong customer service and communication skills – you’ll engage with clients and internal teams to deliver a smooth, professional experience

Preferred (but trainable with the right candidate)
- Multi-drop delivery experience
- ADR certificates (all classes except 1 & 7)

Critical Compliance & Awareness
- Demonstrable knowledge of drivers’ hours legislation
- Excellent record-keeping skills
- Commitment to safe driving practices and adherence to depot/operational procedures
