About The Role
Balfour Beatty Asset & Technology Solutions is seeking a proactive and reliable Driver / Storesperson to join our team based in Thurnscoe. This is a varied and hands-on role supporting our operational teams across the UK by ensuring the efficient management, movement and availability of equipment, materials and plant.
Working from our Thurnscoe depot and travelling to project locations when required, you will play a key part in keeping our operations running smoothly. You will be responsible for maintaining stock levels, supporting depot activities, coordinating plant and equipment logistics, and delivering excellent service to our internal customers.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a practical role, takes pride in organisation and accuracy, and thrives in a fast-paced operational environment.
What you'll be doing
- Managing and controlling stock, plant and equipment within the depot and stores environment.
- Coordinating the delivery and collection of materials, tools and equipment to and from project sites across the UK.
- Loading and unloading deliveries safely and efficiently.
- Checking incoming deliveries for accuracy, quality and damage, and resolving issues with suppliers when required.
- Supporting the hire, acceptance and return of plant and equipment.
- Maintaining accurate stock records and supporting regular stock audits.
- Assisting with the calibration and management of tools and equipment.
- Ensuring the yard, stores and workshop areas remain organised, safe and operational at all times.
- Supporting operational teams by ensuring materials and equipment are available when needed.
- Complying with all health, safety, environmental and company procedures.
- Working closely with depot, logistics, workshop and operational teams to support successful project delivery.
Who we're looking for
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who takes ownership of their work and enjoys supporting operational teams. You will be organised, dependable and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of safety and customer service.

Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence.
- Previous experience within a stores, logistics, warehouse, depot or operational support environment.
- Strong organisational and stock control skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
- A positive, flexible approach and willingness to support operational requirements when needed.
- Understanding of the importance of health, safety and compliance within an operational environment.
Desirable
- Experience working with plant, tools or specialist equipment.
- Knowledge of hire processes and plant logistics.
- Experience supporting construction, infrastructure, highways or engineering operations.
