Role: Driver/Caretaker
Hours: Full-time
Location: Holmfirth (HD9 3TQ)
Salary: £12.74/hr
About the Role:
We are looking for a reliable, proactive and flexible Driver / Caretaker to join our team. This is a varied and rewarding role combining transport duties with general maintenance and caretaking responsibilities, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of our service.
You will play a key role in ensuring the safety, comfort and wellbeing of the people we support by providing safe transport and maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment.
All successful candidates will be subject to a DVLA check.
Key Responsibilities:
Driving Duties
- Safely transport service users, staff, and visitors as required
- Ensure all journeys are planned efficiently and carried out in a timely manner
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and ensure vehicles are clean, roadworthy, and well maintained
- Report any vehicle defects or incidents promptly
- Support passengers with boarding, seating and exiting vehicles in a safe and respectful manner
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and organisational policies

Caretaking & Maintenance Duties
- Carry out basic maintenance tasks (e.g. minor repairs, decorating, furniture assembly)
- Ensure the building, grounds and facilities are clean, safe and well maintained
- Conduct routine health & safety checks and report hazards or faults
- Support with moving and handling furniture and equipment as required
- Oversee external contractors and assist with site access where needed
- Maintain stock of maintenance supplies and equipment
Person Specification - Essential:
- Full UK driving licence (appropriate category for required vehicles)
- Good driving record and confident driving ability
- Basic practical skills in maintenance and DIY tasks
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of health & safety practices

We will pay for your initial DBS check, unless you have a portable DBS, however, if you leave the Trust voluntarily within the first 12 months £58.90 will be deducted from your final salary payment.
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer sponsorship to work in the UK. All candidates must have at least 6 months of work experience in the UK, in any sector.
