Drivers - C E Driver
Class 1 Driver (Full-Time)
Location: St Leonards-on-Sea | Company: Palletforce Logistics

THE ROLE
As a fully qualified Class 1 Driver, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our customers receive products efficiently and safely. This position demands responsibility, attention to detail, and a strong dedication to road safety.
THE SALARY
- Competitive package
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
- Use a handheld terminal to record accurate delivery and service information
- Occasionally operate Class 2 and 3.5t vehicles during peak periods
- Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle in line with company standards
- Safe and responsible driving of Class 1 vehicles only (with occasional upgrades)
- Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and report issues promptly
- Notify the transport office of any scheduling concerns (e.g., delays, problems)
- Maintain fitness to drive, accounting for alcohol intake, rest requirements, and prescribed/over-the-counter medication that could affect driving ability
- Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and meet workload deadlines
- Provide excellent customer service, building strong working relationships
- Adhere to health and safety protocols and road traffic regulations at all times
- Ensure all programmes and paperwork (logs, delivery confirmation, etc.) are accurate, complete, and returned to the transport office
- Deliver goods efficiently to flat-rate locations

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
Qualifications
- Fully valid Class 1 Driver Licence (C+E)
- Valid CPC (Certification of Professional Competence)
- HGV/LGC Class licence with at least 12 months of industry experience
- Digital Tacho Card required for recording working hours
Experience & Knowledge
- Essential: Previous experience as an HGV driver or logistic courier
- Strong preference: Refrigerated (chilled/live load) or multi-drop delivery experience
- Familiarity with supply chain principles, time management, and geographical logistics
Skills & Qualities
- Communication: Strong verbal and written English
- Relationships: Ability to build trust with colleagues and customers
- Adaptability: Willing to adjust start/finish times based on demand
- Prioritisation: Proven ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivation & Teamwork: Work independently when needed but also contribute to team dynamics
- Personality: Friendly, approachable, and professional with a strong work ethic
