The OATQ Journey
We opened our doors in September 2023 on the site of Oasis Academy Brislington, before relocating to our temporary home on Spring Street, Bedminster in January 2024. Our current location is less than 0.5 miles from Temple Meads train station, right in the heart of Bristol’s vibrant city centre.
From September 2027, we will move to our permanent site, part of Bristol’s Temple Quarter development, one of the most exciting regeneration projects in the UK. Temple Quarter will become a world-class gateway unlocking Bristol and the West of England’s potential. This initiative will include:
- Well-connected and thriving mixed-use communities
- New homes, jobs, infrastructure, and opportunities
- Oasis Academy Temple Quarter at the heart of this growth
Academy Context
Currently, the Academy serves Years 7, 8, and 9, with our first Year 10 cohort starting in September 2026.

From 2027, we expect a PAN (Planned Admission Number) of 1,600+ students:
- 1,200 in Years 7–11
- 400 in sixth form

The Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Design & Technology Technician to:
- Join a growing department and contribute to D&T (Design and Technology) within the academy.
- Provide technical assistance and support to teaching staff and the Head of Design and Technology.
- Maintain and develop health and safety systems and procedures across the faculty.
- Support practical workspaces, ensuring they are well-resourced, safe, and effective.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist teachers with subject-specific tasks and project management.
- Troubleshoot and provide technical solutions, ensuring smooth workshop operations.
- Enforce and improve safety protocols, including risk assessments and workspace maintenance.
- Stock, organise, and maintain D&T department resources.
- Support curriculum implementation, including practical projects and assessments.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the learning experience for students.
