I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Hear From a Colleague
“My experience has been extremely positive. I’ve felt well-supported by the entire team, from the different departments to especially my Head of Region. The organisation fosters a culture of listening and continuous improvement, which has made managing the practice both rewarding and fulfilling. The great induction programme helped me settle in quickly, and working alongside a fantastic team of managers has been invaluable. I gained a lot of confidence in leading change initiatives and in decision-making within the practice. The focus on feedback and improvement helped me develop stronger communication skills and adapt more effectively to evolving challenges. The collaboration between departments ensures that I am never isolated in my role. My Head of Region provides guidance and encouragement, creating an environment where I can thrive. The combination of a supportive leadership team, excellent induction, and the freedom to manage my practice with autonomy creates a fantastic environment for professional growth and job satisfaction.”
