About the Role

We’re seeking a Duty Engineer to join our team of Moment Makers. This isn’t just a job—it’s an opportunity to thrive in a dynamic hospitality environment where mindset, passion, and collaboration shape unstoppable success.

Key Objectives

  • Guests First: Deliver experiences that exceed expectations by proactively solving challenges and ensuring high comfort and satisfaction.
  • Departmental Leadership: Manage the maintenance team, fostering growth, development, and performance while keeping budgets, inventory, and productivity aligned with hotel targets.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM), environment, and conservation initiatives to keep properties running flawlessly.
  • Relationships Matter: Build strong bonds with stakeholders across the organisation for seamless collaboration.
  • Systems Thinking: Anticipate unexpected challenges with creative solutions and contribute to high-performing practices.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance department in maintaining standards across all property areas.
  • Ensure timely, excellent responses to guest and operational requests to uphold guest satisfaction benchmarks.
  • Monitor and optimise maintenance workflows, achieving departmental and hotel performance goals.
  • Manage the departmental budget, ensuring cost control, inventory efficiency, and resource optimisation.
  • Implement and refine a top-tier preventative/corrective maintenance programme.
  • Promote a culture of learning, training, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Strengthen inter-departmental relations (e.g., housekeeping, F&B) to create seamless guest experiences.
