Duty Manager

About the Role
This is a varied and interesting role. As Duty Manager, you will wear many hats! Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and recruiting staff
- Implementing training programs for employees
- Resolving customer concerns
- Driving membership growth
- Preparing reports and attending meetings
- Representing Places Leisure effectively
You will need to be a motivated individual who takes responsibility to: ✔ Lead a team ✔ Ensure the efficient day-to-day running of the centre
A flexible approach to work is essential—you must be open to working shifts, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Responsibilities
- Team Management – Supervise and guide a diverse team while maintaining high service standards.
- Customer Focus – Address and resolve client concerns professionally and empathetically.
- Business Development – Boost membership numbers through targeted outreach and promotional efforts.
- Operational Control – Provide effective, responsive leadership to keep the centre running smoothly.
- Compliance & Reporting – Prepare reports and attend meetings to align with organisational goals.

Requirements
Must have
✅ National Pool Lifeguarding Qualification (training may be provided to successful candidates).
Previous Experience
- Leadership/Supervisory Role – Ideally within a leisure facility or related environment.
- First Aid Experience – Preferred (required to become a registered first aider in this role).
- Excellent Customer Service Skills – Demonstrable ability to handle client interactions professionally.
- Strong Leadership Qualities – Proven track record in managing, motivating, and developing teams.
Note: You will be expected to comply with Places for People Group’s safeguarding policies, conduct DBS checks, and uphold our high standards of accountability.
