Leisure Centre Duty Manager
Location: Stechford Leisure Centre, Birmingham, B33 8QN
Salary: £13,937.82 per annum plus excellent benefits
Schedule: 18 hours per week, flexible to work earlies, lates, and weekends, between the hours 6am -10.30pm.

As a Leisure Centre Duty Manager in our Stechford Leisure Centre, you’ll help keep our leisure services running smoothly so communities can enjoy safe, accessible, and welcoming spaces to be active.
You’ll play an essential role in shaping positive experiences for our visitors. From ensuring safe operations to supporting colleagues across the facility, your work will have a real, local impact — helping people feel confident, supported, and inspired to improve their wellbeing.

You’ll be entrusted to:
- Act as a key holder, confidently opening and closing the centre
- Lead the day-to-day running of the facility, ensuring everything operates safely and efficiently
- Support and guide colleagues across reception, wet side, and dry side areas
- Allocate tasks, oversee shift operations, and make sure there’s appropriate colleague cover
- Manage the daily booking diary and respond to customer needs and changes
- Deliver great customer care, handling enquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally
- Carry out and record routine health and safety checks, responding to issues promptly
- Follow Normal Operating Procedures (NOPs) and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), dealing with incidents in line with guidance
Does this sound like you?
You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:
- Previous experience in a leisure, fitness, or customer-focused environment
- The ability to swim confidently and have a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
- Experience supervising or supporting colleagues in a fast-paced setting
- Strong communication skills and a calm approach under pressure
- Great organisational skills with a flexible, reliable approach to shift work

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
