Duty Manager

25 hours per week, as per the rota, including some weekends and evenings

Newton Abbot Leisure Centre

£31,022- £33,699 per annum, pro-rata (subject to 26/27 pay review)

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Duty Manager to join our team at Newton Abbot Leisure Centre. In this key role, you will help oversee the smooth day-to-day operation of the centre, ensuring a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for our customers.

You will be responsible for the management and operation of the swimming pool and pool plant, while providing leadership and support to staff across the site. As a Duty Manager, you will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of customer service, health and safety, and operational excellence.

To be successful, you will hold current First Aid at Work and National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) certificates, along with previous supervisory experience and the ability to lead a team with confidence and enthusiasm.

  • Have previous experience working within the Leisure industry.
  • Lead effectively and are a good communicator.
  • Have a people-focused approach to your work.
  • Remain patient, level-headed and calm under pressure.
  • Have knowledge of, and ensure adherence to, safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all pool users.
  • Be proactive and able to identify day-to-day problems and resolve them as appropriate.
  • Be able to manage competing workloads and work well under pressure.
