Duty Pharmacy Manager – Tesco

Responsibilities

  • Customer & Patient Care

    • Supply prescriptions and deliver NHS/private healthcare services
    • Provide healthcare advice and support to customers
  • Community & Charity Work

    • Actively contribute to Tesco’s charity support program by:
      • Teaching preventative health measures for cancer, heart disease, and diabetes victims
      • Supervising sensitive health education initiatives
  • Team Leadership & Development

    • Collaborate with the Pharmacy Manager to:
      • Train, mentor, and develop colleagues
      • Foster a high-performing team environment
  • Partnerships

    • Strengthen relationships with Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and GPs for seamless coordination
  • Operational Excellence

    • Ensure accurate NHS payment claims for eligible items
    • Maintain store-wide safety protocols

Requirements

  • Qualified pharmacy degree or equivalent registration

  • GPhC membership (General Pharmaceutical Council)

  • Completion of a DBS check (handled by Tesco)

  • Willingness to enrol in the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme (application assistance provided post-offer)

  • Essential soft skills:

    • Strong leadership and team-building experience
    • Commitment to empowering others to grow professionally
    • Enthusiasm for continuous learning and improvement
