Duty Security Manager
Reporting to: Security Operations Manager
Salary: £18.74 per hour
Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts (Days, Nights, Weekends & Bank Holidays) – 7 On / 3 Off / 7 On / 4 Off (average of 56 Hours per week)
Role Overview
The Duty Security Manager is responsible for the daily leadership, management and operational delivery of security services across a high-profile Mitie estate. This is an operational role requiring a proven security leader capable of managing people, incidents, client relationships and business-critical operations.
The successful candidate will be expected to take command during security and life-safety incidents, maintain the highest standards of professionalism and compliance, and provide effective leadership to Security Supervisors and Officers.
Essential Experience & Skills
Applications will only be considered from candidates who can demonstrate:
- Proven security management experience within a corporate, financial, critical infrastructure or similar high-profile environment.
- Experience managing Supervisors and Security Officers.
- Strong incident management experience, including acting as the operational lead during emergencies.
- Bronze Commander qualification, JESIP training, or demonstrable experience managing incidents to an equivalent command level.
- Proficient in dealing with HR matters, including employee relations, investigations, performance management, disciplinary procedures, grievance handling, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent knowledge of security operations, risk management, emergency response and compliance requirements.
- Strong report writing, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to make effective decisions under pressure and lead teams during critical incidents.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage all security operations and personnel across the estate.
- Lead and coordinate responses to security incidents and emergencies.
- Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, audits and contractual requirements.
- Conduct operational inspections, key audits and performance reviews.
- Support training, succession planning and development of security personnel.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Ensure effective escalation of incidents and operational risks.

Please note: This role is designed for experienced security managers and is unlikely to be suitable for candidates whose experience is limited to frontline security officer duties without demonstrable management responsibility.
