Dynamics 365 Finance (F&O) Techno-Functional Consultant

Source-to-Pay Transformation | Outside IR35 Competitive Day Rate | 4-6 Months

We're supporting a business embarking on significant optimisation of their Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance platform and are looking for an experienced Dynamics 365 Finance Techno-Functional Consultant to help shape the next phase of their Finance transformation.

Working closely with Finance stakeholders, you'll become the technical authority for the programme, helping redesign Source-to-Pay processes, improve Accounts Payable automation, rationalise configuration, and establish best practice across the platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design of a Dynamics 365 Finance Source-to-Pay transformation.
  • Review existing Finance configuration and recommend best-practice approaches.
  • Design efficient transaction structures to support AP automation and workflow.
  • Define and optimise:
    • Master data
    • Approval workflows
    • Security roles
    • Controls
  • Translate business requirements into practical D365 Finance solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership across configuration, integrations and platform capability.
  • Advise on AP Automation and OCR solutions, including their integration with D365 Finance.
  • Support host-to-host payment integration and wider Finance process automation.
  • Produce clear documentation, solution designs and configuration guidance.
  • Work alongside internal IT teams and third-party suppliers to ensure successful delivery.

Requirements

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Strong experience delivering Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance (formerly Finance & Operations) projects.
  • Proven experience as a:
    • Dynamics 365 Finance Techno-Functional Consultant
    • Senior Functional Consultant
    • Solution Architect
  • Deep understanding of Procure-to-Pay/Source-to-Pay and Accounts Payable processes.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • D365 Finance configuration
    • Workflows
    • Security
    • Financial dimensions
    • Master data
  • Experience working across:
    • Configuration
    • Integrations
    • Technical solution design
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge existing approaches and recommend best practice.
  • Experience working closely with:
    • Finance users
    • Implementation partners
    • Internal IT teams

Ideal Candidate Traits

  • Location flexibility: Ideally could work from Central / East London (approximately 1-2 days per week) to build rapport with stakeholders, though negotiable for the right skills.
  • Immediate or quick start: Preferred if possible.
