Up to £34,000 per annum

We are looking for an experienced, creative and proactive E-comms Manager to plan, create and deliver campaigns in order to optimise engagement with our supporters, members and stakeholders.

Working with the Senior Marketing Manager, the role-holder will lead on the creation and implementation of the e-comms strategy for our sites in Cornwall and Morecambe, and across our wider mission-based activity, developing customer journeys and boosting engagement.

Job Family Definition

Roles within the Marketing function are responsible for developing and delivering the Eden Project’s brand strategy to build brand profile, awareness and reputation. Extending and diversifying Eden’s audience reach and engagement, to maximise the delivery of commercial and cause-related revenue streams.

The division includes Eden’s brand and audience development, community campaigns, destination and commercial marketing, consumer insight, communications, digital experience and delivery, membership, and ticketing activities. All focused on building a lasting relationship with current and future audiences, and driving value and revenue in the process.

Role Purpose

This role is responsible for planning, creating and delivering targeted digital communications to engage supporters, members, and stakeholders through effective email marketing and CRM-driven campaigns. You will combine technical expertise with creativity and insight, ensuring all communications are data-led, compliant, and aligned with organisational strategy and brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with teams across the organisation to create and manage the email schedule, including planning and delivery of emails and campaigns across the whole of the organisation including visitor comms, seasonal programming, Eden Sessions, membership, supporter journey, education and campaigns.
  • Working with the Snr Marketing Manager, lead on the creation and implementation of the e-comms strategy particularly in relation to CRM and data-driven targeting, developing and optimising audience segmentation to improve engagement and supporter journeys.
  • Responsible for the creation and implementation of the e-comms strategy for our new site - Eden Project Morecambe as it enters the live build phase in the run up to opening in late 2028, focusing on audience engagement and building a supporter journey.
  • Draft, build, and send engaging communications using Microsoft Dynamics CRM, proactively sourcing compelling stories and content by collaborating with teams across the organisation.
  • Maintain high standards of visual presentation, including design through use of Adobe Photoshop, and use of basic HTML within a template structure.
  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of email communications, including scheduling, audience build and selection, segmentation, and automated journeys. Plan and execute A/B testing to continuously improve campaign performance.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on campaign results, using insights to inform future activity.
  • Ensure all communications comply with relevant legislation, including PECR, UK GDPR, and the Data Protection Act 2018, and accessibility standards.

Demands of the role

Education & qualifications

Educated to degree level, with marketing specific qualifications or equivalent professional experience.

Knowledge & skills

The post holder must be an accomplished manager with several years’ experience working in a similar role, with evidence of demonstrating relevant theoretical knowledge and technical skills. They will have extensive understanding of the charity and / or visitor attraction sector. This role requires excellent communication skills, with strong creative flair and ability to devise innovative and engaging campaigns to maximise results.

The post holder will need to have strong working knowledge and understanding of CRM systems (particularly Microsoft Dynamics), and how they can be used to enhance the supporter experience.

Proven experience managing and delivering email marketing strategy across the customer journey and for individual campaigns, including segmentation and automation. Excellent copywriting and content creation skills, with strong attention to detail. Experience with A/B testing methodologies, optimisation techniques and basic HTML.

Experience of interpreting data and campaign performance metrics to drive improvements, including working understanding of GA4. Demonstrable understanding of data protection regulations, including PECR, UK GDPR, and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Competency in Adobe Photoshop or similar design tools.

Decision-making

Manages and prioritises own workload, working to medium-term objectives, planning towards longer-term schedules and contributing to strategic overview. Uses professional judgement to make day-to-day decisions including troubleshooting and challenging issues, knowing when to refer to line manager.

Resourcefulness

Proactive and self-motivated, with a problem-solving mindset, the post holder will need to be confident in their own field so they can resolve most issues independently. A high level of personal motivation and organisation and the ability to prioritise a diverse workload while maintaining excellent attention to detail is essential, as well as the ability to work on their own initiative to deliver objectives.

People & asset management

No direct reports but will manage the schedule, lead on the strategy and be responsible for training other team members. The post holder will manage freelancers and / or agency relationships at key moments throughout the year. They will be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively, and will possess strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners etc and balance competing priorities.

Communication & visitor experience

The post holder is required to manage and deliver effective and compelling communications following brand guidelines. Their exceptional copywriting and interpersonal skills will demonstrate a clear understanding of how to engage audiences, driving visitation and raising awareness of the charitable aims.

Operational Environment

Hybrid office and home working, some out of hours work (evenings and weekends) will be required on occasion.
