Returning VACANCY: EA & Administrator

Supporting the Artistic Director and Exhibitions/Curatorial Teams at the Royal Academy of Arts

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Executive Assistant & Administrator to support our Artistic Director, Helen Legg and our Exhibitions and Curatorial teams.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Royal Academy of Arts as we seek to expand our world-class exhibition programme, broadening our reach across wider audiences. You will work closely with the Artistic Director and colleagues, providing effective administrative support and ensuring seamless daily operations for the department.


About the Role

  • Core Responsibilities:

    • Provide executive or PA-level support to the Artistic Director in a complex, dynamic organisation.
    • Manage competitive priorities, ensuring discretion and meticulous attention to detail.
    • Coordinate complex calendars, facilitate meetings, and maintain departmental processes for smooth functioning.
  • Key Traits:

    • A confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills.
    • Proactive, collaborative, and adaptable when handling administrative duties.
    • Well-developed written English and a keen eye for detail.

Your Profile – Requirements

To excel in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in providing executive or PA-level support to a senior leader in a demanding environment.
  • Ability to organise, prioritise, and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Effective -written and verbal communication; diplomacy, adaptability, and professional discretion.
  • Autonomy to anticipate needs proactively, while supporting collaborative decision-making.
