Secondary Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching are recruiting a full-time Teaching Assistant to support pupils with English as an additional language, to start in September, at a secondary school in North Manchester. The successful candidate will have experience teaching English as a foreign language and a TEFL qualification. Speaking Arabic is desirable but not essential.

Contract: Full-time / Term-time only
Minimum pay rate: £110/day

What will you do:

  • Work closely with teachers to support learning in the classroom.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students who speak Arabic as a first language.
  • Assist in preparing resources and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Encourage and motivate students to achieve their full potential.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fluent in Arabic, desirable but not essential.
  • Hold a TEFL qualification.
  • Previous experience working in a UK school is desirable.
  • Experience working with young people in either a voluntary or professional capacity is desirable.
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year or willingness to complete Prospero's online Safeguarding Training.
