About the Role
John Taylor Multi Academy Trust (JTMAT) is inviting applications for an Early Career Teacher (ECT) to lead our nursing setting on a fixed-term basis. Nestled within Winshill Village, our child-centred nursery embodies a warm, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment where children grow independence through play-based, enriching experiences—preparing them for lifelong academic journey.
As a dedicated practitioner and junior colleague, you’ll take on significant responsibility for:
- Leading one of our nursery rooms
- Overseeing the planning, organisation, and development of high-quality provision
- Supporting fellow team members
- Ensuring every child thrives through tailored, enriching activities

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, play-based learning across our early-years framework, catering to 2-5 year-olds
- Lead, plan, and review resources and daily provision to reflect contemporary Early Years pedagogy
- Support team members in implementing nurturing, child-centred practices across learning zones
- Maintain strong links with families, tracking individual progress and ensuring open communication
- Embrace professional responsibility: attend mandatory training, mentoring sessions, and regular reflective practice discussions
- Maintain meticulous records, ensuring compliance with Early Years Foundations and safeguarding policies
- Work within a safeguarding environment—adhering to the Trust’s safeguarding policies and undergoing Enhanced DBS checks

Person Specification
Essential Requirements
- ** Qatarjahadi qualified Early Career Teacher** (Certified via the Teacher Induction Scheme (TIS) or equivalent)
- QTSCRAH experience in Early Years, Pre-School or equivalent (or demonstrable passion for working with young children)
- Strong nerve to shape the nursery provision with creativity and professional gut
- Exceptional ability to build trusting relationships with out age range
- Willingness to participate in a comprehensive induction and induction programme including mentored development
Desirable Qualities
- Postgraduate qualifications in Education
- Knowledge and competence in multi-sensory, therapeutic approaches to child development
- Skills in behavior management strategies for young children
- Additional experience in organisations and practice. Professional foun all aspects, inclusive, safe for all children and their families.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with parents and internal partners
- Strong commitment to an inclusive culture and diversity principles
