HR Coordinator (HR and Early Careers Advisor)
Locatoin: Aberdeen, Edinburgh or Inverness
Job Purpose
We are looking to recruit an HR and Early Careers Advisor within our busy People Experience team. This blended role plays a pivotal part in delivering an excellent employee and early careers experience by providing first-line advice, high-quality administrative support, and project support across HR Operations and Early Careers.
You will work closely with colleagues across the People Experience function to:
- Provide timely and accurate advice.
- Support the full employee lifecycle.
- Proactively manage the end-to-end Early Careers experience from onboarding through to post-qualification.
The role is responsible for maintaining positive employee experiences, ensuring smooth HR and Early Careers Operations processes, and helping the firm meet its future skills needs.
Responsibilities

HR Support and Issue Resolution: Provide first-line HR support and issue resolution through phone, email, and chat, delivering accurate advice on HR policies, procedures, benefits, and related matters. Escalate more complex issues when necessary.

Employee Lifecycle Management: Support onboarding, employment changes, induction, benefits administration, and offboarding while ensuring a positive employee experience.

Records Maintenance and Reporting: Maintain accurate employee and Early Careers records, update system data, monitor student progress, and produce regular reports.

Early Careers Administration: Act as an initial point of contact for Early Careers employees, providing guidance and general study support. Oversee student records, mailbox management, and monitoring and reporting for Early Careers processes.

Collaboration and Progression Support: Work closely with managers, professional bodies, and stakeholders to support progression requirements. Familiarity with ICAS, ACCA, AAT, ATT, and CTA is beneficial.

Process Improvement and Project Deliverables: Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of HR Operations and Early Careers processes. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and project support.

Employee Relations Support: Owner of employee relations matters, providing feedback to improve processes and communication, and building strong working relationships.

Recruitment Assistance: Support the recruitment team with early careers recruitment activities.
About You
We are seeking:
- Relevant experience in HR Advisor, Early Careers, or similar HR roles.
- CIPD qualification, or completion required.
- A degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment, with strong organisational skills and effective workload management and prioritisation abilities.
- Attention to detail and confidence in maintaining accurate employee and system records.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages (e.g., Word and Excel). Workday experience would be advantageous.
- Problem-solving skills, continuous improvement mindset, and initiative.
- Knowledge and experience with professional bodies (e.g., ICAS, ACCA, AAT, ATT, CTA).
