Early Help Team Manager (Maternity cover)

Band: PO6 Salary: £56,436 per annum, rising to £59,574 per annum with annual increments, inclusive of London Weighting Contract: Fixed Term/Secondment until 30 July 2027

About the Early Help Team

The Early Help Team supports families to prevent escalation of issues, improving outcomes and reducing reliance on high-cost services. Collaborating with Children Social Care, external partners, and community services, their approach involves:

  • Assessing families in need
  • Developing supportive plans
  • Reviewing progress every 6 weeks

Early Help Team Managers are pivotal in ensuring families receive appropriate support at the right stage, embedding best practice across the service.


About the Role

The Early Help Team Manager is responsible for:

Key Responsibilities

  • Working alongside the Service Manager to quality assure, set standards, drive operational performance, and refine best practice within children’s support services.
  • Managing a team of Early Help Practitioners while contributing to a managerial triage system to referrals, directing families to the most appropriate support pathway (e.g., signposting or assessment).
  • Contributing to service transformation, collaborating with the management group to shape the future service design as part of organisational developments.
