Overview
The Early Talent team, based within People and Talent Development, oversees the attraction, recruitment, onboarding, development, advisory, and pastoral support for Trainee Solicitors, Solicitor Apprentices and summer interns across London and Bristol. This role delivers a holistic early talent lifecycle, aligning from market engagement and assessments through to qualification, ensuring a high-quality candidate, trainee, and apprentice experience that reflects and advances RPC’s strategic vision.
We are seeking an Early Talent Assistant in London—a dynamic role requiring strong coordination and administrative finesse to support RPC’s early talent programmes. These encompass: • Trainee and solicitor apprentice recruitment • Attraction events, including law fairs and virtual engagements • Assessment centres • Work experience programmes • Onboarding, department rotations, and qualification processes • Ongoing trainee and apprentice engagement
This position is ideal for ambitious professionals aiming to build foundational experience in recruitment, HR, early careers, or people development within a professional services environment. Prior early talent experience is not required, but candidates should demonstrate sharp administrative skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a passion for guiding this talented cohort.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will entail:

Coordinating attraction efforts • Assisting in planning and executing early talent attraction initiatives, such as:
- Law fairs, internal/external events, virtual engagement.
- External partner collaborations to broaden outreach.
• Managing event logistics, including
- Bookings, travel arrangements, and materials distribution.
- Candidate communications and tailored follow-ups.

Supporting recruitment pipelines • Overseeing application-to-offer workflows
- Screening applications, handling eligibility checks, and updating recruitment systems.
- Supporting systems and trackers for seamless candidate progression.

• Coordinating assessment centres and interviews, encompassing: - Room bookings, assessor/candidate communications and rebates. - Travel reimbursements and related admin.
- Oversight of work experience & onboarding
• Facilitating worthwhile work experience programmes, covering:
- Onboarding, screening, logistics and coordinating meetings.
• Supporting pre-joining logistics, ensuring: - Accurate paperwork, screening and group inductions. - Proactive handling of reimbursements, maintenance grants/bursaries, including support with queries.

Managing talent journeys • Assisting with:
- Department rotations, international secondments, and second-year progression processes.
- Progress review meetings and Quarterly Conversations.
- Mid/End-of-Seat reviews and NQ/qualification routes.

Organizing trainee/apprentice engagement • Managing:
- Group events, forums, department spotlight briefings, and cross-department briefings.
- Logistics, including attendee tracking, agenda distribution, note-taking and follow-up.

Administrative excellence • Maintaining immaculate data accuracy—cataloging in trackers, records, and electronic files. • Keeping tab on reports, budgeting, reimbursements, invoicing, and expenses.

Project support • Assisting ongoing initiatives and process enhancements alongside communication tasks.
Requirements
Professional qualifications:
- Administrative/coordinatory experience in office or professional service settings.
- While recruitment, HR, early careers, events, or marketing administration experience is helpful, it is notessential.

Technical proficiency:
- Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with recruitment/HR systems, with openness to upskilling on industry platforms.
