Early Years Apprentice – Bright Horizons Englefield Green Day Nursery and Preschool


About the Role

If so, we’re looking for an Early Years Apprentice to join our ‘Good’-rated Ofsted nursery in Englefield Green.

Nestled on the grounds of Royal Holloway University, our purpose-built 72-place nursery and preschool offers:

  • Open, well-resourced rooms with direct outdoor access (perfect for all-weather play and learning)
  • Free onsite parking + access to shops and Egham town centre

Full-time role (40 hours/week) starting from £27,976 per annum, rising with experience and qualifications.


Responsibilities

You’ll work as part a child-led team to:

  • Provide a nurturing environment for babies and children aged 0–5 through play, storytelling, and structured activities
  • Foster curiosity and learning with interactive engagement, reading, and adaptive teaching techniques
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to build trusting, supportive relationships
  • Receive mentor-led training and coursework to achieve your formal Early Years qualification
  • Continuously reflect on best practices and implement creative solutions for child development

Requirements

To join our team, you need:

  • A strong commitment to completing your Early Years Apprenticeship
  • English qualification equivalent to:
    • GCSE Grade C (Level 4) or above
    • OR Functional Skills Level 2 (we’ll support you if you don’t yet meet this, but willingness to gain it is essential)
  • A passion for fun, child-centred learning—previous experience helpful but not mandatory
  • Experience such as in:
    • Nursery banking/staffing
    • Teaching/nursery assistance or early-years roles
    • Childminding or nannying

Key skills:

  • Ability to build trust with both children and families
  • Strong communication (tailoring your approach for adults and young children).
  • Eagerness to learn, take feedback, and innovate in your practice.
