Department: Apprentice Location: Kido Wandsworth Bridge Nursery & Preschool Compensation: £18,200 – £19,240 per year
About the Role
Welcome to the heart of Kido, where passion, ambition, and people are at the core of everything we do! As an Early Years Apprentice, you’ll gain valuable hands-on experience within the nursery while working towards a sought-after early years qualification.
This is a Level 3 Apprenticeship, taking approximately 2 years to complete. However, upon achievement of Level 2 early competence, you’ll be promoted within the role and given the opportunity to accelerate into Level 3. The apprenticeship is designed as a work-based programme, with dedicated support and study time to ensure you gain your qualification.

All applicants:
- Passion for Early Years and Childcare and a strong desire to learn.
- Some evidence of prior experience working with children, ideally in a nursery environment.
- Ability to demonstrate mathematical literacy and literacy competence at Level 1 standards (GCSE Maths and English are desirable but not mandatory).
- Equivalent skills will be fully assessed before processing applications.
- Right to work in the UK (including 3 years’ UK residency requirement).
- Willingness to disclose all unspent convictions prior to interview, as part of our Safer Recruitment policy.
- Passing an Enhanced DBS criminal background check before beginning employment.

Compensation & Progression

Salary commencing:
- £18,200 (full-time) for Level 2 Apprentices.
- £19,240 (full-time) for Level 3 Apprentices.

Salary increases on achievement:
- Upon Level 2 sign-off, salary increases to £21,320.
- In your second year, further uplift to comply with minimum wage regulations.
- Upon completing the full apprenticeship, salary rises to £26,499, along with a £500 qualification bonus paid in two instalments.
