Early Years Assistant

Nursing Early Years Assistant – Bracknell (Bright Horizons)

Salary: £26,662.20 – £27,086.30 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Location: Bracknell, Wokingham Road (within walking distance of Bracknell station & town centre)

Bright Horizons is seeking an Early Years Assistant to join their Bracknell nursery, offering hands-on care and enrichment for babies up to 5-year-olds. You’ll develop play-based learning adventures, engage with curious young minds, and collaborate with colleagues to meet each child’s developmental milestones.

Key Responsibilities

As an Early Years Assistant, your role includes:

  • Supporting play-based learning, interactive activities, reading sessions, and stimulating experiences
  • Assisting colleagues in promoting each child’s key developmental milestones
  • Working closely with colleagues to fosters trust with children, parents, and peers
  • Adhering to Bright Horizons’ safeguarding practices and ensuring children’s well-being

Requirements & Qualifications

While formal experience isn’t strictly required, we do look for:

  • Preference for candidates with experience as:
    • Nursery Bank Staff/Assistant
    • Teaching/Assistant Practitioner
    • Early Years Educator or Nanny
  • A passion for child development — embodying an energetic, engaging, and inclusive approach to learning
  • Strong communication skills: Ability to build trust with colleagues, parents, and children across different ages
  • Technical requirements:
    • Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check (mandatory for all roles in early years)
    • Ongoing compliance with safe staffing recruitment checks
