Early Years Assistant
Bright Horizons: Early Years Assistant – Harpenden Luton Road Day Nursery & Preschool
Location & Salary
- Location: Harpenden, within walking distance of the town centre (onsite parking available)
- Salary: Starting from £27,580.80 per year (dependent on qualifications and experience)
- Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Setting: Beautiful converted Victorian house, seven spacious rooms, including a distinctive log cabin nursery room and large outdoor play area
About the Role

As an Early Years Assistant, you will work alongside a dedicated team to nurture children aged 0–5 through interactive play, creative activities, and nurturing development towards key milestones.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide world-class care and education for babies and toddlers.
- Engage children through play, storytelling, and early learning experiences.
- Support children’s physical, emotional, social, and intellectual growth.
- Build strong trustful partnerships with parents, colleagues, and children.
- Contribute to a safeguarding-focused environment (enhanced DBS required).

Requirements
- Previous experience with children is ideal (not essential) – roles such as:
- Nursery Bank/Assistant
- Teaching/Nursery Practitioner
- Early Years Educator
- Nanny/Childminder
- A genuine passion for making learning fun, engaging and age-appropriate.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with both children and adults.
- Commitment to Bright Horizons’ safeguarding policies.
