Early Years Chef – Bright Horizons Cedar House Day Nursery & Preschool
Location 6 Dryden Road, Enfield, Middlesex, EN1 2PP
Salary Starting from £31,948.80 per annum (dependent on qualifications & experience)
Hours Full-time – 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

The Role
As an Early Years Chef, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing, cooking, and serving age-appropriate meals for nursery children while minimising waste
- Ensuring all dietary requirements (including allergies) are met and clearly communicated
- Working alongside the nursery team and parents to promote healthy, nutritious eating
- Leading interactive cookery sessions with children
- Supporting nursery events, such as BBQs, fetes, and staff meetings
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a cooking or culinary role (domestic or commercial)
- A passion for nutrition and inspiring others in healthy eating
- Strong knowledge of managing dietary needs, especially food allergies
- A Level 2 Food Safety qualification (CIEH or equivalent) – required from day one
- Sound understanding of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health)
- Excellent communication skills with colleagues, children, and parents
- Ability to work under pressure
