Company Description

Little Sunshines Pre-School & Nursery is an early years setting dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. The nursery focuses on play-based learning that supports social, emotional, and cognitive development. Educators work closely with families to build strong partnerships and ensure continuity of care and learning. The team values inclusivity, positive relationships, and age-appropriate activities that help children grow with confidence.

Role Description

The Early Years Educator will support children’s learning and development through planned and spontaneous activities that are appropriate for their age and stage. This full-time, on-site role in Derbyshire involves creating and maintaining a safe, engaging classroom environment, observing children’s progress, and documenting their learning. The educator will plan daily routines, support personal care needs, and promote positive behavior and social skills. The role includes collaborating with colleagues, communicating regularly with families, and contributing to curriculum planning and continuous improvement of the setting.

  • Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and experience Working With Children.
  • Candidates should possess knowledge of Early Years Development and child-centered learning approaches.
  • Candidates should possess Creativity Skills to design engaging, age-appropriate activities and learning experiences.
  • Candidates should possess solid Organization Skills to manage routines, records, and classroom resources effectively.
  • Relevant early years qualification (e.g., Level 3 in Early Years Education or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, and inclusive practice in early years settings is beneficial.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with children, families, and colleagues, and to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in a nursery, pre-school, or early years environment is an advantage.
