Are you passionate about nurturing young minds and helping children embark on their educational journey? We seek enthusiastic, highly motivated individuals to join our Early Years team at Oasis Academy Hobmoor, supporting children under the age of five to thrive in a vibrant primary school setting.

The Role
Position: Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprentice Location: Oasis Academy Hobmoor, Wash Ln, Birmingham B25 8FD
Overview
As an Early Years Educator Apprentice, you will collaborate with experienced educators to support the development and well-being of children under five, including those with special educational needs, in both 1:1 and small group settings. Key responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging activities, observing child progress, and maintaining a nurturing environment conducive to learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, delivering, and evaluating age-appropriate activities, aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
- Create an inclusive and welcoming environment, fostering strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, while liaising with external agencies when necessary.
- Support differentiated teaching materials and delivery strategies for diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with teachers to:
- Implement and evaluate learning activities,
- Provide feedback to children and staff,
- Document progress and next steps in learning.
- Monitor, assess, and record pupils’ progress, reviewing and updating individual development plans, including Education and Health Care Plans (ECHP).
- Assist in physical care routines, encouraging children’s independence where possible (e.g., dressing, feeding, hygiene).
- Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and team discussions.

Training and Development
The apprenticeship includes:
- Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification,
- Access to 90+ online continuing professional development (CPD) courses,
- Blended on/off-the-job training (location and details to be confirmed by Oasis Academy).
Applicants will undergo an intensive initial training programme, including interview preparation for placement assessments, to ensure success before formal placement.

Requirements
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- *5 GCSEs (or equivalents) at grades A–C (9–4)**, including English and Maths.
- Passionate about working with young children (aged 0–5).
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability, punctuality, and dedication to your role.
Desirable (but not essential) Experience
- Previous experience working with children.
Essential Personal Traits
- Highly organised and detail-oriented.
- Confident in your ability to learn and grow within the role.
- Professional, empathetic, and nurturing.
Commitment to Safeguarding
All employees and volunteers must uphold safe working practices with children. The role requires an enhanced DBS disclosure and satisfactory references.
Contract Details
- Salary: National Apprentice Wage: £8.58/hour (progressing to minimum wage after 12 months).
- Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 34 hours/week (shift times TBC).
- Position: Fixed-term contract for 19 months.
- Start Date: September 2026.
