Early Years Educator Apprenticeship
This role is within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team, working specifically in the Reception classroom. You will be part of a supportive team of teachers and teaching assistants, providing a high-quality learning environment for children aged 4–5.
Requirements
- GCSE in English Literature and/or Language (grade C/4 or above)
- GCSE Mathematics (grade C/4 or above)
- Communication skills

- Must undergo an enhanced DBS check
Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher and teaching assistant in creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment for children.
- Assist with indoor and outdoor activities that encourage exploration, curiosity, and independence.
- Support children during phonics sessions, shared reading, early writing tasks, and practical maths activities.
- Help to organise play-based learning experiences outdoors.
- Observe children’s learning and help adapt activities to meet individual needs.
- Encourage participation and confidence in children.
- Model excellent language, speaking clearly and positively, and extending children’s vocabulary.
- Build strong relationships and support social and emotional development.
- Contribute to a nurturing classroom where children feel valued and motivated.

Benefits
- Salary: £8p/hr for the first year of the apprenticeship (term time only). Actual salary £10,441.92 (FTE £15,434.29).
- Training course: Early years educator (level 3).
- Potential for a position in the EYFS team at the end of the apprenticeship.

About The Beeches Primary School
This is a large inner city school working with a diverse community in one of the most deprived areas of Peterborough. The school has 3 classes for each year group ranging from Reception up to Year 6. The apprentice position would be in our Reception provision. Each Reception class has up to 30 children and has an experienced teacher and teaching assistant in each ready to offer support, ongoing CPD and guidance.
