Early Years Educator Apprenticeship - Tictots Nursery (Preston)
About the employer:
TicTots has been established for over fifteen years, the original TicTots Nursery was set up in 2006 at Strand by Dianne Houghton. In February 2008, Deborah Thompson took over the running of TicTots nursery and remains closely involved with the running and management of the setting. During the initial Ofsted inspection, TicTots Strand Rd. achieved a rating of “Good”, this was maintained during the most recent inspection during April 2022.
Overview of role:
The purpose of this role is to ensure all children receive high quality care, are kept safe and are provided with planned and stimulating play experiences which meet their individual needs and support all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
Key details:
- Hours: 40 hours per week (shifts tbc at interview)
- All Year Round (52 weeks per year)
- Wage: Apprenticeship wage £8 per hour. This will increase to the NMW for your age after the first year (https://www.gov.uk/national-minimum-wage-rates)
- Location: Within Total Fitness, West Strand Rd, Preston, Lancs, PR1 8UY

Apprenticeship details:
- Qualification: Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship
- Duration of course: 19 months
- Training Provider: LMP Education
- All learning delivered online/ remotely alongside placement at the nursery.
Full Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to maintaining high standards of safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in the nursery.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by the supervisor, consistent with the role.
- Always comply with the nursery’s equal opportunities policy while performing duties.
- Contribute to the nursery as a whole, being mindful of where assistance is most needed and always considering the needs of the children.
- Respect the confidentiality of all information received.
- Ensure the provision of a high-quality environment that meets the needs of all individual children.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with parents/carers to support the day-to-day care and early learning needs of children.
- Uphold the nursery's standards and maintain its positive profile at all times.

Qualifications Requirements:
- GCSE or equivalent (Functional skills) English (Grade 4) essential
- GCSE or equivalent (Functional skills) Maths (Grade 4) essential
