Early Years Educator – Kido Battersea Nursery & Preschool

Location: Kido Battersea Nursery & Preschool, Malvern House, 2A Palmer Rd, Nine Elms, London SW11 4GJ
Compensation: £27,500 – £30,000 per year (full-time, 40 hours per week)

What We’re Looking For
We seek passionate and dedicated Early Years Educators to join us at Kido Battersea Nursery & Preschool.
Key requirements:
- Essential qualifications:
- A relevant childcare qualification, minimum Level 2.
- If you obtained a Level 3 qualification after 2014, you must also hold or work towards Level 2 Maths and English (including Functional Skills).
- Experience: Proven track record in Early Years education.
- Essential qualities: Commitment to child development, collaboration, and safeguarding children.

What You’ll Do
- Create a nurturing environment – Foster a safe, engaging space where children can learn and thrive.
- Key person responsibility – Build stable, trusting relationships with primary caregivers.
- Observation and planning – Document child progress and tailor age-appropriate learning experiences.
- Vary your teaching strategies – Adapt lessons to suit individual learning styles and interests.
- Set up enabling environments – Design spaces that spark curiosity, exploration, and creative learning.
- Support children with additional needs (SEND) – Work alongside families, teachers, and professionals to provide inclusive support.
- Safeguard children effectively – Follow strict safeguarding protocols, escalate concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), and ensure wellbeing standards are met.
- Health and safety duties – Participate in daily safety checks and risk assessments.

Safeguarding Commitment
All roles directly involving children adhere to strict safeguarding policies under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
Key safeguarding process:

Same-day DBS checks available, frowned list clearance, birthering mandatory. Candidate must be prepared to pass enhanced DBS at own expense at any time within a 6-month window period from reservation date.
