Job Title: Early Years Educator

Department: Nursery

Location: Kido Clerkenwell Nursery & Preschool Address: Clements Hall, 141 Central Street, Clerkenwell, London EC1V 8AP

Compensation: £27,500 - £30,000 per year Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)

About the Role

Welcome to Kido, where passion, ambition, and people are at the heart of everything we do!

As an Early Years Educator (EYE), you’ll be far more than just a carer. You’ll embody our values, shape our nurturing culture, and advocate for the growing children in our care.

This is your opportunity to join a thriving nursery group that invests in career growth, offering unparalleled opportunities for professional development. If leadership, creativity, and a strong commitment to early education resonate with you, apply now!

Key requirement: You must hold a Level 2 or Level 3 early years qualification. If your Level 3 qualification was obtained after August 2014, you must also prove a Level 2 Functional Skills qualification in English.

Unfortunately, sponsorship for visa/temporary work authorisations is not available at this time.

Responsibilities

The role requires:

  • Delivering high-quality, child-centred learning experiences aligned with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidelines.
  • Planning, implementing, and evaluating activities that promote development (social, emotional, cognitive, and physical).
  • Building trusting, nurturing relationships with children, parents/carers, and fellow team members.
  • Supporting a safeguarding-first culture, ensuring all policies and DBS checks are maintained.
  • Championing inclusivity and ensuring equality of opportunity for all children, including those with additional needs.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to foster a positive, stimulating environment free from incidents.
  • Demonstrating mentorship and leadership (or openness to future development in this area).
  • Participating in team meetings, continuous professional development (CPD) and nursery enrichment projects.
  • Maintaining accurate records of child progress, attendance, and daily activities through online assessment systems.

Requirements

  • A recognised childcare qualification: Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification (minimum).
    • Note: If your Level 3 qualification post-2014, you must also hold or prove achievement of a Level 2 Functional Skills qualification in English.
  • Experience caring for young children (desirable but not mandatory if qualification is recent).
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
  • Creativity and patience to deliver engaging activities for toddlers and infants.
  • A commitment to safeguarding practices and working to child protection policies.
  • Physical stamina for a role requiring movement, active participation, and standing for long periods.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) as the primary working language.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
