Early Years Educator - Mapperley

Qualified Early Years Educator – Childcare Role (30-40 hours per week)

  • Care & Support: Provide a nurturing, inspiring environment, fostering emotional growth and development.
  • Safeguarding: Ensure the nursery stays safe, clean, and secure, with strict adherence to safeguarding policies.
  • Role Modelling: Demonstrate best practice daily, acting as a positive example for children and colleagues.
  • Parent Engagement: Greet parents warmly and give clear, meaningful handovers daily.
  • Progress Tracking: Maintain detailed observations (e.g., Nursery In A Box for key children), ensuring they align with EYFS guidelines.

Daily Excellence in Environment & Engagement

  • Maintain a welcoming, organised room/lounge space with engaging displays and accessible resources.
  • Design and deliver high-quality indoor/outdoor activities tailored to each child’s needs.
  • Attend mandatory training, including in-house and external sessions (potential weekend attendance for some).

Community & Events

Participate in weekly events including:

  • Parents’ evenings
  • Staff meetings
  • Summer fairs
  • Organisational team building
