Hours: 30-40 hours per week

About Cherubs Nurseries

Established in 1993, Cherubs Nurseries is a family-run business dedicated to giving all children the personalities, skills, and experiences they need to thrive without limitations. Our approach, inspired by Montessori, Hygge, Reggio Emilia, and Forest School, is central to our mission. Cherubs Executive House is an 80-place nursery in Bulwell, Nottingham, offering convenience with good bus, tram, and road links.

Core Responsibilities

Work as part of the Childcare Team to deliver an outstanding service for children and families:

  • Maintain a safe, secure, and clean environment, adhering to safeguarding policies.
  • Be a role model for the children while mentoring colleagues.
  • Provide a warm welcome and clear handover to parents/carers.
  • Complete Nursery In A Box for key children, meeting targets and providing detailed progress accounts underpinned by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Keep rooms organised, engaging, and welcoming, with carefully curated resources and displays.
  • Attend in-house and external training, which may include occasional weekend sessions.
  • Assist in planning and delivering vibrant activities (indoor and outdoor) to engage children and support their holistic development.
  • Participate in team events, including parents’ evenings, staff meetings, and summer fairs (some may be out-of-hours or on weekends).

Role of Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo)

If applicable, ensure:

  • Early identification and support for children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
  • Collaboration with staff, parents, and external agencies to monitor progress and provide appropriate interventions.
  • Management of SEND processes and paperwork, including:
    • Funding applications
    • Provision maps
    • Referrals
    • Ensuring accurate and accessible records
  • Maintaining compliance and training, keeping up with relevant legislation and policies, and supporting collegial development.
