Early Years Educator - South Normanton

Qualified Early Years Educator – Hours: 30-40 per week

You know the value of early years—and so do we. If you’re a Qualified Early Years Educator ready to bring energy, creativity, and care to every day, we’d love to have you on our team.

About the Role

At Cherubs Nurseries, we want to help children build personalities, skills, and experiences to take on the world without limitations. Our approach is inspired by Montessori, Hygge, Reggio Emilia, and Forest School principles, with a strong emphasis on Community Life—working to enrich the places where families live, work, and grow.

We believe raising a child takes a village, and want our nurseries to reflect the communities they’re part of. That includes championing diversity—including a commitment to welcoming more men into early years—and supporting MITEY as we strive towards a mixed-gender early years workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding early years care as part of the Childcare Team, ensuring both children and families receive the best possible service.
  • Maintain the safest, most secure, and cleanest environment for children, adhering to safeguarding policies at all times.
  • Act as a role model for children while supporting colleagues to demonstrate best practice.
  • Provide warm, engaging welcome and handover meetings for parents and carers at the start and end of each day.
  • Complete the Nursery In A Box assessments for key children, setting goals and writing clear, tailored reports reflecting the EYFS framework.
  • Keep key areas tidy and organised, ensuring engaging displays, OPEN layouts, and an inviting environment.
  • Attend in-house and external training (some may be outside of working hours, including weekends).
  • Plan and deliver creative indoor and outdoor activities while supporting each child’s personal development.
  • Participate in parent evenings, staff meetings, and nursery events, including summer fairs—some of these may fall outside standard hours.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
