Early Years Level 5 Apprentice

Location: Little Adventures Nursery, St Phillips, Bristol Salary: £13.83 per hour Hours: Full time (typical 40 per week) Contract: Apprenticeship

Job Description

The Role We are recruiting an Early Years Level 5 Apprentice to join our team at Little Adventures Nursery in St Phillips. This apprenticeship is ideal for an experienced level 3 practitioner, who is committed to developing professionally within early years education and wishes to gain a Level 5 qualification while working with children aged 0–5 years.

Working alongside experienced practitioners and mentors, the apprentice will support the planning and delivery of high-quality, inclusive play-based learning that promotes children’s development, wellbeing and readiness for school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the planning, implementation and evaluation of observation-led learning activities.
  • Promoting children’s personal, social, emotional and communication development through nurturing interactions.
  • Contributing to assessment and record-keeping in line with nursery policies and the apprenticeship requirements.
  • Maintaining a safe, hygienic and stimulating learning environment.
  • Working with families to share progress and support continuity of care and learning.
  • Participating in team meetings, supervision and professional development activities.
  • Complying with safeguarding, health & safety and confidentiality procedures at all times.

What We’re Looking For

  • A genuine interest in early years education and a desire to achieve a Level 5 qualification.
  • Already hold a Level 3 Qualification in Early Years.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues and families.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
  • Commitment to inclusive practice and children’s welfare and safeguarding.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy; willingness to complete any required functional skills or portfolio work.
  • Previous experience or volunteering in a childcare setting is desirable but not essential.

Hours

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday–Friday (actual daily hours to be agreed)
