Early Years Officer
Proposed Interview Date: Week Commencing 17 August 2026

Contract Type: Temporary until March 2027
Salary: £31,761.26 to £34,914.86 (FC6, Pro Rata)
Working Pattern: 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 1.15pm until 6.15pm)
Location: Torryburn Nursery

Job Details
We seek an Early Years Practitioner who is passionate about: 🔹 Promoting children’s learning, development, and welfare in a nursery setting. 🔹 Ensuring inclusion, diversity, and equality in all interactions. 🔹 Engaging with stakeholders and advancing the nursery’s goals.

Qualifications, Registration & Skills
Essential qualifications (or equivalents): 🔸 HNC in Childhood Practice/Early Years Education & Childcare, or 🔸 SVQ Level 3 (Social Services, Children & Young People).
Registration & Compliance: You must register with the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) at practitioner level within 6 months of starting work. This includes completing PRTL during the registration period.
📌 Knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence (birth to 5 years), including realising ambition and child development principles, is required.
Soft Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teams.
- Commitment to creating positive outcomes for all children and young people.

Background Checks: ✅ Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership via Disclosure Scotland is mandatory. ✅ SSSC registration has a deadline of 3 months post-appointment.
If starting a qualification to maintain SSSC membership, details will be provided post-announcement. Ensure prompt completion within the given timeframe.
