Nottinghamshire County Council is dedicated to creating a supportive and nurturing environment for families and children. We believe in the power of community and are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of those we serve. Join us in our mission to support families and children in their early years.

Your efforts will help strengthen the home learning environment, making a lasting difference in the lives of children and their families.
In This Rewarding Role, You Will
- Deliver tailored interventions to support children's readiness for learning.
- Collaborate with families to provide early help services in both home and community settings.
- Engage with parents as their child's first educators, enhancing the home learning experience.
- Conduct assessments to identify children's developmental needs and track their progress.
- Work alongside a multi-agency team to ensure comprehensive support for families.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with service policies.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
