About the Role

The Early Years Practitioner will support children aged 0-5 and their families in Mansfield, delivering tailored interventions to enhance learning readiness and overall development. Working within our Nottinghamshire County Council approach—focused on ‘Our Nottinghamshire Approach’ (a strengths-based model)—this role ensures families receive the early support they need to overcome challenges.

You will collaborate directly with children, families, and a multi-agency team to strengthen the home learning environment, reducing risks and promoting stability. This position is integral to ensuring that vulnerable children and families receive proactive, evidence-based early support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialist interventions to prepare children for school, nurturing essential skills in literacy, numeracy and social development.
  • Provide early help services in the family’s home and community, fostering partnerships with parents as their child’s first educators.
  • Conduct developmental assessments and monitor progress to identify and support individual needs.
  • Work closely with a multi-agency team to coordinate holistic support for families, ensuring no child falls through the gaps.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant records while adhering to council policies and safeguarding guidelines.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
