Early Years Practitioner (Part-Time) – Mansfield West Family Hub, Nottinghamshire
Salary & Type
- Salary: £25,583 – £26,403 per annum (pro rata)
- Type: Permanent
- Hours: Part-time (14.5 hours per week)
- Work Base: Mansfield West Family Hub, Mansfield, NG19 6EW
- Working Arrangements: Office-based
Job Overview
The Children and Families Department at Nottinghamshire County Council is built on "Our Nottinghamshire Approach"—a strengths-based model focused on empowering families, children, and young people. This role will allow you to make a meaningful difference by delivering early support to children and their families.
As an Early Years Practitioner, you will:
- Develop tailored interventions to support children’s readiness for learning.
- Collaborate with families to provide early help in homes and communities.
- Engage with parents as their child’s key educators.
- Conduct assessments to identify and address developmental needs.
- Work with a multi-agency team to deliver holistic support.
Responsibilities
- Deliver evidence-based interventions that enhance children’s learning readiness.
- Work closely with families to create supportive home-learning environments.
- Identify and track children’s developmental progress through assessments and records.
- Collaborate with professionals (e.g., health, education, social care) to ensure comprehensive family support.
- Maintain accurate documentation in line with service policies.

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of two years’ experience working with children aged 0-5 and their families.
- NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or an equivalent qualification.
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential for home visits).
- Knowledge of safeguarding practices and child development principles.
- Experience in interventions, inclusive practices, and working with diverse communities.

- Empathetic, adaptable, and professional with clear boundaries.
