Early Years Practitioner – Bright Horizons New Southgate Day Nursery and Preschool

About the Role

Salary – Starting from £31,158.40 per annum (dependent on qualification and experience) Location – New Southgate, London

We are hiring an Early Years Practitioner for our 58-place nursery, rated “Good” by Ofsted, located in North London. Our facility offers convenient transport links—walkable to New Southgate Overground Station (with connections to Piccadilly and Overground) and near bus routes 221/382.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will design, deliver and evaluate engaging activities for children within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), fostering their growth towards developmental milestones. Your responsibilities include:

  • Planning and customising activities tailored to each child’s needs.
  • Maintaining a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment to encourage creativity, exploration, and a lifelong love of learning.
  • Supporting children to express themselves freely while optimising their educational progress.
  • Collaborating with colleagues, parents, and carers for consistent, nurturing childcare.

Requirements

We are seeking candidates who:

  • Hold a valid and relevant Level 3 or higher Early Years qualification.
  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for creating supportive, fun, and inclusive learning spaces.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Evidence strong safeguarding and child protection awareness, including:
  • Comply with our safer recruitment practices for the role, including an enhanced DBS check prior to confirmation.
  • Commit to relating with children, colleagues, and families with trust, empathy, and professionalism.
