Early Years Practitioner – Clapham Day Nursery and Preschool
Salary: Starting from £31,158.40 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Location: Clapham, London
Base: Bright Horizons Clapham Day Nursery and Preschool (proudly Ofsted rated ‘Good’)

We’re excited to welcome an Early Years Practitioner to our lively nursery in Clapham, conveniently near Clapham Common tube and Clapham High Street train stations.
Our nursery features:
- Seven age-specific rooms
- A dedicated art studio
- A sports studio
- A children’s kitchen
The Role
As an Early Years Practitioner, you’ll:
- Plan, create and implement engaging, child-centred activities to support each child’s development, aligning closely with key milestones.
- Foster a safe, nurturing environment where children can freely explore, learn, and build a lifelong passion for education.
- Cultivate strong partnerships with parents/carers and colleagues to ensure every child thrives.

Key Responsibilities
- Designing and facilitating age-appropriate, inclusive learning experiences (play-based or structured).
- Supporting children’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development while adhering to Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) frameworks.
- Ensuring a safeguarding-first mentality, with vigilant oversight of child protection principles and policies.
- Maintaining collaborative communication with parents, colleagues, and senior staff.
Requirements
To lead this meaningful role, you’ll need:
- Fully achieved Level 2 or 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
- A deep passion for fostering joyful, inclusive learning environments.
- Solid understanding of EYFS principles and practices.
- Proven safeguarding knowledge with stick-to-itiveness when it comes to compliance.
- Empathy and inclusivity—a breath of fresh air who builds trust with both colleagues and families.
