Early Years Skills Coach/Tutor – West Midlands

Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 (per annum) Location: West Midlands Role Type: Full-time, Hybrid (.remote + on-site) Base Location: Juniper Training Co., Walton University Estate, Brierley Hill, DY6 7AJ

About the Role

There will be some home-based working, but regular travel to learners’ workplaces will be required. The successful candidate must be based within the West Midlands region.

We’re seeking a dedicated Early Years Skills Coach/Tutor to join our team. You’ll play a key role in inspiring and supporting apprentices on their journey towards qualifications, from delivering dynamic training sessions to providing one-to-one coaching assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and interactive group training sessions, including induction training
  • Support apprentices through one-to-one coaching, workplace visits, and mentoring
  • Assess and provide constructive feedback on apprentices’ portfolio submissions
  • Deliver Functional Skills in English and Maths up to Level 2
  • Monitor learner progress and set challenging targets
  • Maintain high standards of learner attendance, retention, and achievement
  • Uphold Juniper’s commitment to inclusivity and workplace safety

Candidate Requirements

Due to the peripatetic nature of this role, you must be a fully licenced driver and have access to a private vehicle.

We’re looking for:

  • At least two years’ experience in the Early Years sector (within the last three years)
  • Training delivery experience with adult learners (16+)
  • A passion for coaching, mentoring, and apprenticeship success
  • A Level 3 Teaching Qualification (or willingness to achieve within six months)
  • A TAQA-level Assessor Qualification (or willingness to achieve within six months)
  • Strong communication, organisational, and proactive interpersonal skills
  • A genuine desire to support underrepresented learners and foster life-long learning
