Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 per year Location: West Midlands (with some home-based working and regular travel)
About This Role
Are you passionate about shaping the future of Early Years professionals? Do you thrive on delivering engaging, impactful training?
We’re looking for a skilled Early Years Skills Coach/Tutor to support apprentices on their journey to qualification. In this role, you’ll deliver dynamic training, provide one-to-one coaching, assess portfolios, and equip learners with the tools to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
This is a peripatetic role, requiring regular travel to employers’ locations. A full driving licence and access to a car are essential.
What You’ll Do
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and interactive group training sessions, including apprenticeship induction
- Support apprentices through one-to-one coaching and workplace visits, offering tailored guidance
- Assess and provide constructive feedback on apprentices’ portfolios
- Teach and assess English and Maths Functional Skills up to Level 2
- Monitor progress and set achievable targets to increase retention, attendance, and completion rates
- Maintain high standards of learner outcomes and achievement

Person Specification
Essential Criteria:
- A background in Early Years, with at least two years of relevant experience in the last three years
- Training delivery experience with 16+ learners or adults
- Strong coaching/mentoring skills, with a passion for helping apprentices reach their potential
- Commitment to achieving:
- A Level 3 Teaching Qualification (or drive towards it within six months)
- A TAQA or equivalent assessor qualification (or pursue within six months)
- Proven communication, organisational, and motivational skills
- A clean driving licence and reliable transport (training sessions occur across employer sites)
