EYFS Teaching Assistant

Nottingham City Centre, NG1 (commutable from West Bridgford, Sneinton, Mapperley, Carlton, Beeston)

£110-£130 per day

Start Date: September 2026

Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary

Long Term Futures is recruiting a nurturing and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Nottingham City Centre from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Early Years practitioner who is passionate about giving young children the very best start to their education. Working within a vibrant Nursery or Reception setting, you will help create a safe, stimulating and engaging environment where every child can develop socially, emotionally and academically through purposeful play and structured learning.

The school is looking for a caring and proactive individual who can build positive relationships with children, staff and families while supporting pupils to become confident and independent learners.

About The Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging Early Years learning opportunities through play-based and adult-led activities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with a range of learning and developmental needs
  • Assist with the delivery of early phonics, language development and early mathematics activities
  • Support children's personal, social and emotional development, encouraging confidence and independence
  • Observe children's progress and contribute to learning journals and classroom assessments
  • Prepare engaging learning environments and help maintain stimulating indoor and outdoor provision
  • Support children with personal care where required
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff and parents to ensure every child receives the support they need

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience working within an EYFS setting (Nursery or Reception)
  • Good understanding of the EYFS Framework and child development
  • Knowledge of early phonics programmes is desirable
  • Experience supporting children with SEND is advantageous
  • Caring, patient and enthusiastic approach to supporting young learners
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
