Role Description
The Earwax Removal Specialist will provide safe and effective ear wax removal services to patients in Hertford in an on-site setting. This contract role involves performing procedures such as microsuction, irrigation, and manual wax removal, following clinical protocols and infection control standards.

- Explaining procedures and risks to patients
- Documenting findings and treatments
- Offering clear aftercare guidance
The specialist will coordinate bookings, manage their daily schedule, and maintain equipment and consumables to ensure readiness for patient appointments. Collaboration with other healthcare providers and appropriate onward referral for complex cases are also part of the role.
Qualifications
- Clinical ear care skills, including competency in microsuction, irrigation, and manual ear wax removal, with a strong focus on patient safety and infection control.
- Patient-facing skills such as clear communication, active listening, reassurance, and the ability to explain procedures and aftercare in accessible language.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle bookings, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and manage equipment and supplies efficiently.
- Ability to work independently, make sound clinical judgments, and collaborate with other healthcare providers for onward referral when necessary.
- Relevant healthcare qualification (e.g., audiology, nursing, hearing care, or related field) and recognized training in ear wax removal techniques.
- Current professional registration or accreditation where applicable, and evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Knowledge of UK clinical standards, confidentiality requirements, and safeguarding principles.
- Full UK driving licence and reliable access to transport are advantageous for reaching on-site locations.
